Health & Safety

Our goal for the Annual Meeting is to create an environment where all attendees can exercise their own level of caution concerning COVID-19 and other illnesses. Please keep the following in mind as you consider your own health and safety:

  • The best way to prevent a severe case of COVID is by keeping up with vaccinations. Currently, this means receiving one shot of the updated (bivalent) Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines that became available in September 2022. Learn more here.
  • High-quality face masks (N95) can reduce the chances of transmission and infection. These masks are widely available at stores and can be obtained for free via local health centers and county health departments. Learn more here.
  • If you feel unwell before or during the Annual Meeting, please do not attend or participate in any activities. All attendees will be able to livestream most Annual Meeting events via our virtual conference platform.
  • In the days leading up to the Annual Meeting, if you have COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID symptoms, please contact Stephen Sherman at stephen@philanthropysoutheast.org to discuss a partial refund or switching to a virtual registration.
  • Please show respect for your fellow attendees and how they approach their own health and safety.

To support our attendees, we are taking the following actions for this year’s Annual Meeting:

  • Hand sanitizer and a limited number of face masks will be available on-site.
  • Social Distancing and Physical Contact: Color-coded social distance preference indicators will be available to all attendees during conference registration on-site. While we look forward to being in person, not everyone will have the same comfort with hugs or handshakes.

If you have questions regarding any of these guidelines, please contact Chris Yueh at chris@philanthropysoutheast.org.

Philanthropy Southeast's Code of Conduct

Philanthropy Southeast is composed of a broad and diverse membership of grantmakers. At our core, we are a community of grantmakers connecting with each other to improve the practice of grantmaking in the Southeast.

At our meetings and events, we also welcome visitors from non-member organizations who attend as presenters or participants. Philanthropy Southeast strives to create a comfortable place for all Members, visitors, and others engaged in philanthropy to exchange experiences and ideas and engage in conversations that are welcoming and of benefit to all participants. As such, Philanthropy Southeast is not a venue for grant seekers, fundraisers, or other types of charitable solicitations during any of its meetings, events or through its publications nor is it an appropriate venue to conduct political activities. We ask that our Members and visitors not solicit at Philanthropy Southeast-sponsored events or programs and that Members and visitors not use information obtained through their Philanthropy Southeast membership or participation in Philanthropy Southeast events for charitable, business or other solicitations outside of those events.
