Apply for Membership

Membership to Philanthropy Southeast is open to several types of philanthropic organizations and individuals active in our 11-state footprint. View our eligibility guidelines for full details.

Member applications meeting our eligibility guidelines are vetted by the Membership Committee, which votes on whether to send applications to the full Board of Trustees for approval.

How to Apply

Your organization can apply for membership online – start by creating a profile if you don't already have one, then select your name at the top of the webpage. Click "My Account" and, once your account page loads, hit the "Join Now" button. You can also apply by downloading a PDF and following the provided instructions. In either case, in addition to the application, you must provide the following documentation:

  • A copy of your most recent IRS Form 990PF or 990 for established foundations 
  • A description of your grantmaking program (for private operating foundations, provide a description of your philanthropic activities) 
  • A list of recent grants 
  • An annual report with audited financial statements, if available
  • A current 501(c)(3) determination letter 
  • A list of board and staff members
  • A description of your giving 
  • A list of recent grants or contributions
