GGA 2024 Annual Meeting:
Workplace Development

Friday, September 6, 2024

New location: Roam at Trilith
(210 Trilith Parkway, Suite 100, Fayetteville, GA 30214)

Our annual event returns this year with a multi-dimensional exploration of strategies being employed to develop Georgia's workforce to meet demands of industry and to provide individuals with pathways to livable wage jobs. Georgia is consistently ranked among the top states to do business and yet, in 2022, 13 percent of Georgia households earned below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and another 35 percent were ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households earning above the FPL but not enough to afford the basics in the communities where they live.

Development of a workforce with skills needed for today's (and tomorrow's) jobs is a critical component in attracting business to Georgia and in enhancing families' economic mobility, educational, and health outcomes. This convening will be an opportunity for grantmakers to learn and develop strategies regarding the potential for philanthropic support to enhance workforce development efforts.

In addition to the opportunity to engage in a timely conversation around a critical issue, the day will include time to network with your colleagues within Trilith, a community built adjacent to Trilith Studios to support and foster creativity. Trilith Studios is a key player in Georgia's film and television production industry, which contributes $4 billion annually to the state's economy and has created high-paying jobs for workers with specific production-related skills.
